Reviews of Mendelssohns Violin Concerto
On the 1st and 2nd October, Aarhus Symfoniorkester and Alva Holm played Mendelssohns Violin Concerto in Aarhus Musikhus and Viborg Katedralskole, and in both Jyllandsposten Århus Stiftstidende, the reviewers are positive.
”With a constant soft vibrato, she held the notes warm and trembling, in a way where you experienced the work’s almost sentimental virtuosity standing powerful and breathtaking – in a simple yet gripping way (…) To experience how she mastered the virtuosic work, calls for more concerts with her as the soloist.”
Rachel Einarsson, Jyllandsposten
“Despite being only 20, Alva Holm is already shining. In the first movement, she hit all the different characters in the themes, strong and temperamental with a beautifully executed cadenza, technically as well as musically. “I was touched by her”, as a colleague commented following the concert.”
Ole Straarup, Århus Stiftstidende
